Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Teatro LATEA is a multidisciplinary arts organization and cultural home dedicated to bringing artists, audiences, and communities together through the performing and visual arts. Since 2024, Carole Alexis Dance Theatre — Ballet des Amériques has been an official dance company in residence at Teatro LATEA, establishing a long-term artistic partnership within this vibrant cultural environment.

For Ballet des Amériques, the residency provides a New York City home for rehearsal, creation, training, artistic development, and performance. It allows the company to develop its professional work within a multidisciplinary setting while contributing dance to LATEA’s diverse cultural programming.

The partnership is particularly meaningful because both organizations share a commitment to artistic diversity, cultural exchange, and bringing communities together through the arts. Ballet des Amériques brings to LATEA the distinctive choreographic language of Carole Alexis, rooted in classical and contemporary ballet, African and Afro-Caribbean traditions, and the multiple cultural influences of the Americas.
